Iranian actress Elnaz Shakerdoost stars in Fereydoun Jeyrani’s ‘Suffocation’ to be ready for production soon.
‘Suffocation’ is currently being filmed in Tehran and the crew members hope they can make the film ready for the upcoming edition of Fajr Film Festival.
Renowned Iranian composer Karen Houmayounfar is also in charge of making the movie’s music.
Having a social theme, the script of ‘Suffocation’ is written by Jeyrani himself.
Navid Mohammadzadeh, Poulad Kimiaee, Mahaya Petrosian and Pardis Ahmadieh also play in the movie.
Jeyrani made his stage début with acting in a play named ‘Esmat’ in 1972.
He entered the film industry by writing the screenplay for a movie by Mehdi Sabaghzadeh in 1981 and continued writing until 1987 when he directed his first movie.
He has directed several movies, including ‘Red’ (1998), ‘Fire and Water’ (2000), ‘The Last Supper’ (2001), ‘Pink’ (2002), ‘Season Salad’ (2004), ‘Zagros’ (2005), the trilogy of ‘Stars’ (2005), ‘Parkway’ (2006), ‘Parya's Story’ (2010), and ‘I'm a Mother’ (2010).
In addition to directing features, Jeyrani is also a producer, cinematographer, screenplay writer, television anchor and journalist.
